Roanoke Star 75th Anniversary Celebration
Please join us for a celebration of the Roanoke Star’s 75th Anniversary!
When: Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM
Where: Beneath the Roanoke Star, with activities to follow at the Mill Mountain Discovery Center
Join the 75th anniversary celebration of the Roanoke Star! There will be welcoming remarks and a brief history of the Star from former Mayor Nelson Harris, star-themed crafts, and limited giveaways!
Interested in even more history? Join us for a History Hike of Mill Mountain starting at 9 AM (space is limited). You’re also welcome to hike up on your own, or you can join Parks and Rec staff on a bike ride up the mountain! Meet at River’s Edge North parking lot at 8:30 AM.
*For those driving, please plan to park at the lower lot by the Discovery Center as upper parking will be reserved for handicap and staff access. Carpooling is recommended.
