MELROSE RUGBY and Northwest
Beginning and ending at Eureka Park, this 7.7 mile route weaves cyclists through the Melrose-Rugby, Gainsboro, and Washington Park communities and visits 10 parks and one recreation center. On this route, you’ll discover a new paved path from the Melrose library to Horton Park (perfect for cyclists!), Kennedy Park with paved paths that crisscross the sprawling expanse (perfect for a leisurely afternoon stroll), and the Compton-Bateman House in Villa Heights Park. This large mansion, constructed in 1835, was sold to the City in 1958 for the Villa Heights Recreation Center. It now houses several non-profits, including LEAP for Local Foods and the Humble Hustle.
