GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown to a global movement, inspiring individuals to give and celebrate generosity. This #GivingTuesday, we’re asking for your donations toward two non-profit organizations that directly support the work of Roanoke Parks and Recreation.
FRIENDS OF MOUNTAIN VIEW
The Friends of Mountain View is a nonprofit tax-exempt charitable foundation with the purpose of securing funding for the restoration and maintenance of Mountain View (now known as the Historic Fishburn Mansion) through sponsored fundraising activities; to promote awareness and advocacy of Mountain View; to provide visionary leadership in the overall coordination of restoration and preservation of Mountain View; and to preserve the legacy and heritage of the Junius B. Fishburn family.

ROANOKE PARKS FOUNDATION
The Roanoke Parks Foundation is a non-profit organization that exists to support the City of Roanoke’s Parks and Recreation Department by raising funds, accepting gifts and providing other resources to enhance existing programs, services, facilities and technology. We do this by working with donors, volunteers, and leaders in our community who want to help us improve the quality of life for all Roanoke residents and visitors.
