For the Kiddos
Santa’s Candy Cane Hunt
Sunday, December 8 | 2:30-4 P.M. | Preston Park/Recreation Center | $10
Santa has discovered that his sneaky elves have hidden candy taken all across Preston Park! Bundle up and uncover as many candy canes as you can before the hungry reindeer find them. After the hunt, visit with Santa and his elf assistant inside while warming up with hot cocoa and cookies. Don’t forget to bring a camera as each child will have the opportunity to hand deliver their wish list to the big man himself.
Happy Holidays Paint Party

For those 12 and under, celebrate the holiday season with a special holiday paint class! Parents or guardians are also welcome to register and participate alongside their child. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. All supplied are included.
Holiday Winter Camp
December 30 – January 3 (closed January 1) | $64
Winter break is looming, and you’re wondering how to keep your child entertained for a week. We are offering an exciting all-day camp for the kids in your household! This camp includes breakfast, a trip, crafts, and fun and games. Bring your own lunch. Space is limited and reserved for children ages 5-11 years old. No camp will be held on January 1.

Candlelight Christmas Tour: Fishburn Mansion
Saturday, December 14 | 5 P.M. and 6:30 P.M. | $10
Enjoy an intimate tour of Roanoke’s historic Fishburn Mansion by candlelight. The 42-room, Georgian-Revival mansion was built in 1907 by Junius B. Fishburn, a prominent publisher, banker, entrepreneur, and philanthropist throughout the Roanoke Valley in the first half of the 20th Century. During the tour, you will get more information and see the home in its holiday finest as you learn about the history of the mansion and the family that occupied it. Take a step back in time and explore the legacy Mr. Fishburn left behind. The tour will last approximately 45 minutes. Pre-registration is required for this program.
“A Christmas Past” Open House
Sunday, December 15 | 1-5 P.M. | FREE
Join us for “A Christmas Past,” a Christmas open house at the historic Fishburn Mansion. Each room will bring to life festive traditions as you learn about the history of the home and the family that occupied it. Stop by and enjoy light refreshments and a glass of eggnog, a favorite of the Fishburn family, or warm up with a cup of spiced cider. Please feel free to come and go as you please!
Restorative Candlelight Yoga
Sunday, December 15 | 6:30-7:30 P.M. | $15
This combination class begins with an all-levels vinyasa flow and then shifts to a restorative yin class. Celebrate the season with a yoga flow surrounded by the twinkling glow of Christmas tree lights and candles. Before the class, Mountain View Recreation Center will be hosting a free open house event, so stop in, tour the mansion, and get your flow on!
Frosty Melt!

Stressed from the holidays? Sweat it out and burn off some calories at this festive circuit-training class featuring strength training and cardio intervals. Holiday music is an added bonus, and holiday outfits are encouraged but not required. Suitable for all fitness levels.
