July is Parks and Recreation Month, and that means we get to celebrate parks, programs, our staff, and the people (YOU!) who visit our public spaces. One way we are celebrating is with a social media contest. We’ve got some AWESOME Hydroflask gear burning a hole in our pockets, and we are looking for some people to give it to.
During the month of July, visit any City of Roanoke park, plaza, greenway or blueway OR participate in a PLAY Roanoke program. Then, follow these directions:
- Post a picture of it on Instagram using the hashtag #RoaParksandRec and tag @playroanoke.
- Tag a friend to do the same! The more you post, the most chances to win.
- That’s it! At the beginning of August, five names will be randomly drawn to win Hydroflask gear!

This Instagram photo contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram. PLAY Roanoke (Roanoke Parks and Recreation) is the contest host. The contest runs from July 6, 2020, at 10:00 am EST to July 31, 2020, at 11:59 pm EST. One photo will be chosen at random for a prize swag bag by a third party on August 3, 2020, at noon EST, and the winner will be contacted through the social media platform they used. Photos must contain City of Roanoke-maintained parks, plazas, greenways, and blueways (including Carvins Cove) and/or programs provided by Roanoke Parks and Recreation and use the hashtag #playroanoke.
