The Roanoke Department of Parks and Recreation has released a new draft of the proposed Master Plan. Since this process began, the Department, along with Pros Consulting, has worked to gather input through community meetings, conferences with internal and external stakeholders, and multiple surveys. Using all of this feedback, this proposed plan was crafted for Roanoke citizens and will provide guidance for service delivery over the next decade.
Over the next several weeks, a public hearing will be scheduled through the Department of Planning, Building and Development, allowing citizens the opportunity to provide comments on the draft plan. The Planning Commission will then consider a recommendation from staff to include it as an amendment to the City’s Comprehensive Plan. If approved, City Council will consider full adoption of the plan later this summer. We want to thank everyone who came to our community input meetings, filled out surveys, and submitted feedback and comments. Your guidance has helped us create this plan, and once adopted, we look forward to putting it into play.
