As cooler temperatures creep into the forecast, race directors are taking advantage of the hospitable weather and giving folks plenty of opportunities to recreate in the next few weeks! Carvins Cove is no exception to the influx of local races. Because this venue is a favorite outdoor spot for our residents, we wanted to make you aware of the many races and events being hosted there in the near future. Below is a list of upcoming races and the trails that will be impacted. Please use this information to plan your future trips, or you might even be interested in registering for one of these yourself!
Saturday, September 29th–Virginia Tech Enduro Bike Race
Time: 8:00am-3:00pm
Location: Timberview Road Parking Lot, 3399 Timberview Road.
Trails Used: Trough, Gauntlet, Brushy Mountain Fire Road, First Deck, Horsepen
Sunday, September 30th–Virginia Tech (XC) Cross Country Bike Race
Time: 9:00am-4:00pm
Location: This race is staged from the Boat Dock at Carvins Cove, 9644 Reservoir Road. There will be an aid station at the Bennett Springs Parking Lot as well.
Trails Used: Happy Valley, Arrowhead, Songbird, Comet, Brushy Mountain Fire Road, Four Gorges, Four Gorges Extension, Tuckaway, Enchanted Forest, Little Bell, Schoolhouse, Rattlin’ Run

Saturday, October 6th–Creatureduro Downhill Mountain Bike Race
Time: 9:00am-4:00pm
Location: This race is staged from the Sherwood Archers property at 2720 Timberview Road, but there will be some race infrastructure at Timberview Parking Lot, 3399 Timberview Road.
Trails Used: Trough, Buck, Brushy Mountain Fire Road, Hotel, Hi Dee Hoe, Gauntlet, Horsepen, Royalty, First Deck

Time: 8:00am-7:00pm
Location: Boat Dock at Carvins Cove, 9644 Reservoir Road. There will be aid stations at both Bennett Springs and Timberview parking lots.
