Arbor Day Celebration

This event will feature a presentation on ‘Preserving Tree Canopies and Ecosystems’ by Mamie A. Parker. Ph.D., a member of the National Wildlife Federation Board. Remarks will be made by Roanoke Mayor Sherman Lea Sr.; Christopher Blakeman, Environment Manager, City of Roanoke; and William West, Urban Forestry, City of Roanoke. Following a ‘Sustaining Tree Seedlings’ tutorial by Virginia Cooperative Extension volunteers, members of The Links will distribute tree seedlings to attendees. The event is free and open to the public.
