We’re continuing our GO Fest excitement with an overview of some of the possibilities that day two holds. If you thought Friday’s schedule was impressive, Saturday’s will quickly remind you why GO Fest is Roanoke’s most anticipated festival of the year.
Vendors of all kinds will be set up showing off some of their best products and services. Browse through the tents as you experience demonstrations, freebies, and the chance to talk to the pros. Vendors include outdoor gear and equipment, safety and training, adventure planning, crafts and artisans, dog training, animal adoption, financial services, and so much more.
Day two kicks off at 8:00 am with the Hometrust Bank Superhero Race. This all ages, all-levels event benefits Family Promise of Greater Roanoke. The 5K race isn’t just for the runners – it welcomes walkers, wheelchairs, dog walkers, and children to join in on the fun. There’s prizes, a fun run for kids ages 10 and up, and to make it even more fun, you’re encouraged to come in costume! Demonstrations go on throughout the day on Saturday. Catch Jeff Lenosky at his Pro Bike Trials demo where he’ll wow the crowd with elevated maneuvers across his very own designed course. Jump on the Mill Mountain shuttle for bike demos where you can get the chance to test out some of the most elite equipment on the market. New this year? You can try out the Adventure Gym sponsored by Cox! This extreme obstacle course will leave you feeling breathless! And people can compete against one another for the best time during the festival. Also, jump in on a pick-up game of Human Foosball. The games are quick and incredibly fun.
Kick back at one of the many entertaining shows scheduled at various times throughout the day. Enjoy the Sprint BMX Stunt show where the pros hit the track to show off some of their most epic aerial skills. Prepare to laugh and be amazed all at once with The Timberworks Lumberjack Show. These flannel-wearing professionals will amaze onlookers as they hurl axes, race to slice pine, and compete against one another for balance and stamina in log rolling. This is a hilarious and impressive presentation you won’t want to miss.
Dog lovers, gather ‘round – we’ve got demos for our four-legged friends too. Learn about dog sports as you watch these amazing athletes conquer courses, catch Frisbee discs mid-air, and show off their skills in trick training. The demo pool will have plenty of scheduled demonstrations throughout the day as well, including learning watercraft safety techniques and testing out equipment for yourself.
Grab a bite to eat at any of the amazing food truck vendors parked on site. No matter what you’ve got a craving for, you’re likely to find it! Then pull up a seat and enjoy the music at Haley Toyota Stage. Saturday’s lineup includes Chupacabras a seven-piece band that mixes surf rock with Afro-Cuban rock, and Downtown Abby and the Echoes , winners of Floydfest’s 2019 On the Rise Competition. Headlining the show this year is the incredibly talented Andy Frasco & The U.N., a California-vibe-infused American blues rock band.
